The Asia Pacific Dental Students Association (APDSA) Annual Congress is an event that brings together dental students from APDSA member nations within the Asia-Pacific region. Over 400 participants, including students, professors and graduate doctors from more than 17 countries attend the congress each year. The hosting of the event is rotated amongst member countries.

The 48th APDSA Annual Congress will be held in Taiwan, in August, 2022. 

The Mid-Year Meeting (MYM) is a great opportunity for those wishing to experience what APDSA is all about. As it is held towards the end of the calendar year, students who are unable to join the Annual Congress in August, due to a clash of school dates, lack of holidays or any other commitments, may avail this opportunity to participate in international APDSA activities. This offers dental students another opportunity to be a part of our family. The shorter duration of the MYM is perfect for those with limited time to travel abroad and collaborate constructively.

Lend-A-Hand Project (LHP) is a charitable agenda organized by APDSA on a regular basis. This year's LHP was held in Indonesia. The project was carried out virtually, with the aim of providing oral health education in several elementary schools. Along with being educators comes the opportunity for delegates to interact with students through games and experience all the fun that LHP offers! At the end of LHP, a symbolic tooth brushing session with representatives of the elementary school students took place and ten percent of the registration fees was donated to an orphanage in Semarang, Indonesia for charitable purposes!

Hubba Ali, General Secretary of APDSA – Pakistan Division, had the opportunity to participate in this event. She found it to be,

International Dental Exhibition and Meeting (IDEM) Singapore is held once every two years. It involves a variety of activities such as, scientific poster competition, dental exhibition, new dentist forum and much more. IDEM, in collaboration with Asia-Pacific Dental Students Association (APDSA), has initiated the IDEM-APDSA Student Leader Program.

Case Report Presentation Competition 2021, the Online Case Report Presentation Competition is an opportunity for dental students in the Asia-Pacific Region to present and discuss current research being undertaken, as well as foster collaboration at the international level.

The esteemed, Dr. Samir Qazi and Dr. Asad Chatta from Pakistan, were the judges of the case report presentation competition. Two dental students had the honor to represent Pakistan at the event.

This series comprises of lectures, discussions and webinars conducted by renowned clinicians and esteemed academics from various parts of the Asia-Pacific region, who provide their unique insights and perspectives pertaining to a wide range of topics relevant to modern day dentistry.

This is a project aimed at dental students and newly graduated dentists who wish to grow as professionals and enhance their clinical knowledge.

The purpose of the Executive Committee Meeting is to:

• Develop and implement strategy, oversee the operational plans, policies and procedures required to promote the organization’s vision throughout Pakistan.

• Monitor and optimize operating and financial performance.

• Prioritize and allocate resources to where they are needed most.
